Nazam Overview

کھرا ڈنر is the fifth poem of the Class 11 Urdu textbook and belongs to the genre of مزاحیہ نظم (humorous and satirical poetry). It is written by Syed Muhammad Jafri, one of the most celebrated humorists of Urdu literature. Jafri is known for his parodies, political satire, and detailed cultural observations, which he presents in a highly structured, classical poetic framework, making his humor both intellectual and accessible.

The primary theme of this poem is a critique of modern social manners and banquet customs.
